Areas We Serve · Comox Valley
Courtenay Movers Who Know APS Season, Crown Isle, and the Mount Washington Run.
Courtenay is the heart of the Comox Valley and the centre of 19 Wing CFB Comox military rotations. So our crews show up understanding BGRS timelines, ready for Crown Isle’s curving golf-community driveways, and prepared to route around Mount Washington’s mountain road when winter conditions hit.
What Sets Comox Valley Moves Apart
A Military Wing, a Golf Community, and a Ski Mountain All in One Service Area.
Courtenay is a small city with a remarkably full mix of move-day realities. CFB Comox cycles families in and out every summer. Crown Isle’s hilltop streets feed retirees and luxury buyers. And Mount Washington pulls a seasonal residential layer up above the snowline. Each of those facts shapes how we plan a move here.
CFB Comox APS Rush
Active Posting Season runs from June through August every year at 19 Wing. So Comox Valley demand for movers spikes hard during those three months. We hold capacity for posting families, coordinate with BGRS-approved timelines, and confirm move dates before the rest of the calendar locks in.
Crown Isle Hilltop Access
Crown Isle is a 831-acre golf community of luxury homes on Courtenay's east-side hill. Driveways curve along the fairways, entries are gated, and most homes have view-side decks. We scout the load path on the walkthrough and pick a truck size that fits the property.
Mount Washington Road Conditions
Mount Washington Alpine Resort sits at 1,500 metres elevation with a winding 25-kilometre access road. So a ski-season move up there depends entirely on the forecast. We watch DriveBC, confirm road conditions the morning of, and reschedule if a winter storm closes the route.
Our Process
Five Steps Built for the Pace of a Comox Valley Move.
A Courtenay move runs on three things working together. First, the calendar has to respect APS season demand. Second, the property type has to drive the truck size, especially in Crown Isle and Mission Hill. Third, the weather has to factor in if Mount Washington or the Mt. Washington Parkway is involved. Here are the five steps that hold it all together.
Booking and BGRS Coordination
If you are posted to or from CFB Comox, we work directly with your BGRS file. So your move date, your weight estimate, and your billing all line up with the relocation policy. Civilian bookings follow the same coordinated approach with your own timeline.
Comox Valley Property Walkthrough
We map your inventory against your actual property. East Courtenay subdivisions tend to be flat and recent, but Crown Isle, Mission Hill, and Mount Washington each bring their own access quirks. The walkthrough decides the truck size and the load path.
Coastal and Alpine Protection
The Comox Valley sees coastal rain at sea level and snow above 800 metres in winter. So we bring lawn runners for wet ground in the valley, deck protectors for Crown Isle view homes, and chains in the truck for any Mount Washington run.
Move Window Around the Island Highway
Highway 19 runs as a bypass west of Courtenay while Cliffe Avenue carries most of the city's retail traffic. So we route through 19 when we can and stick to Cliffe only where the address actually requires it. That keeps the truck out of the busiest corridor.
Unload and Final Sweep
Before we leave, we walk both ends of the move with you. We confirm nothing is left in the garage, the shed, or the moving truck. Then we set the furniture where you want it and clear the protection materials.

Comox Valley Move Questions
What Comox Valley Households Ask Us Before Booking.
When is CFB Comox APS season and how does it affect availability?
June through August, with availability tightening by mid-spring.
Active Posting Season runs from early June through late August every year, with the heaviest concentration in July. So military families across Canada are all moving in or out of 19 Wing at the same time. We start filling APS slots in February and the calendar tightens fast. If you know your posting message is coming, reach out as soon as you have a confirmed date.
Do you handle BGRS-approved moves into and out of 19 Wing?
Yes, we coordinate directly with BGRS files.
We work with Brookfield Global Relocation Services on military moves into and out of 19 Wing CFB Comox. So your move date, your weight estimate, and your billing all line up with your relocation policy. We can provide the documentation BGRS requires for the file. You get a Canadian Armed Forces-trained move handled the way the policy expects.
How does a move into Crown Isle work with the gated entry and golf-community streets?
The same way we handle any luxury community move.
Crown Isle is a 831-acre planned golf community with curving streets along the fairways and view-side homes on hillside lots. So driveways tend to be longer and angled. On the walkthrough we map the access route to your specific home, confirm any entry-gate procedures with the community, and pick a truck size that fits the property. View-side decks get full corner protection on the way in.
Can you move to Mount Washington Alpine Resort in ski season?
Yes, weather permitting.
Mount Washington Alpine Resort sits at 1,500 metres elevation, about 25 kilometres up the Strathcona Parkway from the valley floor. So a winter move up there depends on the forecast and the road conditions. We watch DriveBC the morning of the move, run chains on the truck during the alpine portion, and reschedule if a storm closes the parkway. Summer moves up there are straightforward.
Do you serve Comox, Cumberland, and Royston from your Courtenay crew?
Yes, all three are part of our Comox Valley service area.
Comox is 4 kilometres east of Courtenay, Cumberland is 7 kilometres southwest, and Royston is 5 kilometres southeast. So all three are short distances from our Courtenay crew base. We handle moves into, out of, and between all four communities the same way. Travel fees inside the Comox Valley are flat and disclosed at booking.
I am flying into YQQ from out of province. How do you coordinate the move from there?
We coordinate with your flight date and your shipment separately.
Comox Valley Airport handles direct flights to Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton, so many out-of-province arrivals fly into YQQ before the household goods arrive. So we schedule the move to fit your arrival date rather than your flight. If your shipment is coming by ferry or by long-distance trucking from out of province, we coordinate the unload window with the carrier.
